U.K. Claims Hit Santander

MADRID?Spanish banking giant Banco Santander SA on Wednesday reported a 38% drop in second-quarter net profit, after it set aside ?620 million ($899.7 million) to cover potential claims for customers in the U.K. who were missold payment-protection insurance policies.
